Accessibility Statement

Last revised 1 July 2026

Hawthorne Ads Ltd wants hawthorneads.com to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, magnify the page, rely on high-contrast modes or need reduced motion. This statement records the standard we work to, what we have done, where we fall short and how to tell us about a problem.

1. Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We assess against it whenever we make substantial changes and at least once a year. We consider the site substantially conformant, with the exceptions in section 3.

2. Measures we have taken

  • Semantic landmark structure, a single main heading per page, and headings in logical order without skipped levels.
  • Contrast tested across the whole palette. The antique gold is used for interface detail and headings at sizes where it meets the large-text threshold, and body copy is set in bone at 4.5:1 or better against the forest ground.
  • Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard, in a predictable order, with a visible focus indicator meeting the WCAG 2.2 focus appearance criterion.
  • Persistent visible labels on all form fields, programmatically associated, with required fields marked in text as well as by attribute.
  • The botanical branch illustrations, ornamental dividers and vignette layers are decorative and hidden from assistive technology.
  • Layout reflows to a single column at 320 CSS pixels wide with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content or functionality.
  • Text scales to 200% and honours user-defined minimum font sizes. Our display serif is set in relative units and remains legible when enlarged.
  • All reveal transitions and hover effects are disabled when the operating system requests reduced motion. There is no autoplaying media anywhere on the site.
  • Accordions use native details and summary elements so open and closed state is announced correctly.
  • Data presented in tabular form uses real table markup with header cells, so screen readers can associate values with their labels.
  • No flashing content, no automatic redirects, no session time limits and no drag-only interactions.

3. Known limitations

  • Light display serif at small sizes. Our display typeface is high-contrast by design. We have restricted it to headings and figures and set body copy in a sturdier sans-serif, but some readers may still prefer to increase text size, which the site fully supports.
  • Embedded video. Third-party players are not entirely within our control and may not meet Level AA in every respect. Transcripts are available on request.
  • Archived reports. Some older PDF trading briefings are not tagged for screen readers. We will supply an accessible HTML or plain-text version within two working days of a request.
  • Complex profit tables. Detailed tables in downloadable reports are wide and, while marked up correctly, can be demanding to navigate with a screen reader. We will provide a simplified version on request.

4. Assistive technology we test with

Our most recent review covered NVDA with Firefox and Chrome on Windows 11, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, TalkBack with Chrome on Android, keyboard-only navigation, Windows High Contrast and forced-colours modes, and browser zoom to 400%.

5. Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site does not work for you, please tell us. Email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject line. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using.

We acknowledge reports within two working days and aim to resolve confirmed issues within 20 working days, providing the information in an alternative format meanwhile.

6. Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in relation to accessible services. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

7. Preparation of this statement

Prepared on 1 July 2026 following a self-assessment of every page, combining automated testing, manual keyboard and screen reader testing, and a criterion-by-criterion review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Reviewed annually or whenever the site changes substantially.
